Yes, the rumors are true.  SGP Woodworking started in a garage.

Despite their humble beginnings,  the SGP of today relies on state-of-the-art machinery to craft your project.  And although SGP artists and craftsmen are a sharp bunch, they understand that sometimes you have to ask for help.  That's why they have carefully selected machinery built by their industry-leading partners like Altendorf, SCM Group, Holz-Her, and Powermatic, who's fabrication systems include invaluable customer service and support.  Their knowledge and hands-on experience helps SGP stay focused on what they do best: turning your ideas into something they can deliver to your front door.

On-Site Technology includes:

SCM 5 Head Moulder

Creates traditional or custom millwork profiles that we can design and mill  to your specifications.  Using an industrial grinder, we can design a custom molding that exists nowhere else in the world.

Timesaver 37" Widebelt Sander

Before we begin hand sanding, we use this machine as a "first pass" to remove marks left behind from the Moulder or the Planer, making our job a little easier.

Altendorf Panel Saw

The closest thing we have to a robot, the panel saw has automated sliding fences and sawblades that move on their OWN, just like in the movies.

Powermatic 24"Planer

Easily our oldest machine, we had to hire a crane to bring it in through a window!  Used to remove large amounts of material from rough stock, this old tank reveals the beauty beneath the tree bark.

Holz-Her Edgebander

At over 20 feet long, the edgebander uses hot melt glue and a series of saws and routers to put a finished edge on plywood, which we then use for shelves and other components.

Summit Straightline Rip Saw

This saw uses a tank track and a laser beam to cut a boat load of material in the blink of an eye!

Powermatic 12"Jointer

We like straight boards.  Unfortunately nature doesn't grow them that way though, and this machine takes out the bends and curves to produce straight stock for your project.

Bridgewood Shaper

Our largest shaper, this machine is used to cut profiles into components we use to build newel posts, hand rails, and specialty parts that we have to design from scratch.

Mikron Radius Moulder

Thinking about some arched windows for your great room?  This machine is designed to make decorative curved moldings that look like they belong in a European Cathedral.
